A Campaign Success Story

Beaver Dam Community Hospital

Beaver Dam Community Hospital is building a replacement hospital at its current location.   The new facility will replace a series of buildings that have been erected over the past 50 years, and will enable the hospital to operate more effectively and efficiently. Our new facility will have 60 beds - all private rooms - a new emergency room, operating rooms, women's health center, oncology center, physical therapy and much more.   Our proximity to Madison ( 29 miles), Fond du Lac ( 29 miles) and Milwaukee (36 miles) causes some of our area residents to go elsewhere for medical care, but local business and industry wants and needs our facility to stay and improve.

We set our public fund raising goal at $2 million after a feasibility study (the balance of the $65 million project is being financed through revenue bonds and we are committing an additional $4 million from monies raised over the past several years in anticipation of this project).

Our first choice for chairman, a long-time resident and businessman said yes, as did every other volunteer we wanted to recruit.   The boards of the hospital and its ancillary divisions have all made commitments, and combined with our top 10 gifts have already produced $1.4 million. We have every expectation that we will meet - and possibly exceed - our goal.

Keys to success have been the willingness of volunteers to join the effort, commitment by business leaders to help ensure that this hospital remains and is able to provide more and better care, and the commitment of everyday citizens who appreciate having quality health care close to home.
